That ain’t chile! It’s spaghetti sauce at best! Even then it’s an insult to spaghetti sauce.

I’ve had a few staff members from Cincinnati who love the stuff, and fixed Cincinnati chili for us to try once. I couldn’t eat it. One of the staff, who was a temp employee, sent us each a can of Skyline Chili from Cincinnati about 5 years ago. Most of us have the unopened cans of Skyline Chili as curiosities, but one person fixed the can of chili and attempted to eat it. She said it was so horrible that she had to go out to Blake’s Lota Burger, a local burger place, and get a double green chile burger to get the taste of the Skyline out of her mouth. We just laughed and asked what was she thinking? She said she was curious about it. I told her there are some things you should know better than being curious about.

Skyline definitely seems to have a love-it-or-hate-it reputation. I fall into the “eh” category, possibly because I’ve only had it once or twice. That said, you can tell that it isn’t something I go searching out. Blake’s Lota Burger sounds like it might have some real possibilities though!
